Horse riding itinerary Mount Etna
The horseback riding experience on Mount Etna depends a lot on how familiar you are with horseback riding. In fact, you have the possibility to choose different durations for your horseback riding tour on Mount Etna.
In the summer period (July and August) the excursions start from the Etna North side, at Rifugio Ragabo at an altitude of 1450 meters. In all the other months the horse riding tours tart from the Ranch in the village of Linguaglossa.
Horse riding on Mount Etna | 4,5 hours (€ 100,00 p.p.)
If you already have experience riding a horse, then you can already opt for the half day horseback riding tour. When the tour starts from the Ranch in the village of Linguaglossa, you can choose to go up to Mount Etna, to Monte Crisimo at an altitude of more less 1100 meters. This excursion lasts about 4,5 hours.
Another option is to go in the direction of the Mountains of the Valle dell'Alcantara and to Castiglione di Sicilia. From the mountains you have an amazing view on Mount Etna and on the coast of Taormina.
Together with your guide you can decide the best itinerary for your experience.
In the summer months, the Mount Etna horse riding tour starts from Rifugio Ragabo, at an altitude of 1450 meters. From here you go towards Piano Provenzana at an altitude of 1800 meters, where you can admire the lava of the last eruption of Mount Etna of 2002. And you can also climb up to the craters of 2002, or choose to go to the craters of the Monti Sartorius.

Horse riding on Mount Etna | 7/8 hours (€ 150.00 pp)
This full-day horse riding experience on Mount Etna is reserved for experienced riders only. In this excursion you will leave from the Ranch in Linguaglossa and climb Mount Etna north to an altitude of 1800 meters, passing through old paths. On this Mount Etna horseback riding tour you will visit different aspects of the volcano such as caves and old lava flows until you see the last eruption in 2002.

I booked a 4.5 hour Horseback ride. I was very early and was allowed to participate in preparing my horse which turned into more of a lesson Enjoyably. My guide was unable to make it however the owner of the ranch took me out instead. He did not speak english and I did not speak italian, However, I think that made the trip even more fun. My first excursion by myself And I was worried, but at the end I had so much fun. Coffee before we left cheese and salami for lunch and a glass of wine at the very end. I will be back when I return to Italy.
