The Etna Summit Tour is always led by a licensed volcanological guide, officially trained and authorized to accompany visitors to the summit craters of Mount Etna. These professionals have studied geology and volcanology, and are regularly updated on safety procedures and volcanic activity.
Throughout the hike, your guide stays in direct radio contact with local authorities and the Volcano Monitoring Center (INGV), to ensure that the excursion is conducted under the safest possible conditions.
The guide will provide interesting facts and explanations about Etna’s geology, past eruptions, and ongoing volcanic activity — making your hike not just adventurous, but educational too.
Guiding is done in both Italian and English. A French-speaking guide is available on request (subject to availability).
