The itinerary of your Mount Etna horse riding experience depends on the season, your experience level, and your personal preferences. Whether you’re a beginner or an expert rider, your local guide will help select the most suitable route for an unforgettable day on the volcano.

Standard 4.5-Hour Tour (€110.00 p.p.)

Departure in summer (August):
In the warmest months, the tour starts from Clan dei Ragazzi (1450 m), on Etna’s North side. From here, you’ll ride up towards Piano Provenzana (1800 m), through shaded pine forests and past old lava flows.
You can choose to explore the dramatic craters of the 2002 eruption, or opt for the beautiful trail to the Monti Sartorius, with sweeping views over the Valle del Bove.

Departure in other months:
The tour starts from the ranch in Linguaglossa, a traditional village at the foot of the volcano. From there, you’ll ride through forest trails towards Monte Crisimo (approx. 1100 m altitude), surrounded by wild nature and ancient lava fields.

Alternative route:
If you prefer a more panoramic trail, you can ride towards the Alcantara Mountains, with spectacular views over Mount Etna, Castiglione di Sicilia, and even the coastline of Taormina.

Full-Day Tour – 7 to 8 Hours (€150.00 p.p.)

This full-day horseback adventure is reserved for experienced riders only.

Starting from the ranch in Linguaglossa, you will ride along ancient mule tracks and forest trails up to 1800 meters altitude on Mount Etna’s north side. Along the way, you’ll discover volcanic caves, centuries-old lava flows, and reach the area of the 2002 eruption, one of the most significant in recent history.

A sandwich and drink are included. Please let us know in advance if you have dietary preferences.

Enjoy a scenic horseback experience on Mount Etna’s north side, departing either from Linguaglossa or Rifugio Ragabo depending on the season. Together with your guide, you’ll choose the route that best suits your experience level.

• Duration: approx. 4.5 hours (half-day) or 7–8 hours (full-day, for experienced riders)

The price for the Etna Horse Riding Tour depends on the chosen duration:

• 4,5 hours horse riding: € 110,00 per person
• 7/8 hours horse riding: € 150,00 per person

Minimum of 2 participants required to confirm the tour. Payment is made directly to the guide on the day of the tour (cash preferred). For groups or bookings on public holidays, we may request a deposit to secure your reservation.

You will receive all payment and meeting details after booking confirmation.

What to bring

For your comfort and safety, we recommend wearing long pants. Please avoid wearing shorts or hotpants, as your legs will be in contact with the saddle. A legging, sport pants or jeans is ideal for horseback riding on Mount Etna. We recommend also closed shoes with a sturdy sole, such as sneakers or light hiking shoes — no sandals or flip-flops! A helmet is provided by the guide.

Please let us know in advance if you have any special dietary needs, as a sandwich and drink are included in the tour.
