Discover the wild beauty of Mount Etna on horseback! This 4.5-hour guided tour takes you along scenic forest paths, ancient lava flows, and panoramic viewpoints on the northern slope of the volcano. Departing year-round from Linguaglossa, you’ll ride through Etna’s striking landscapes, often heading toward the area of Monte Crisimo. During summer months — especially in August — the tour may start higher up on the volcano (depending on the weather), allowing you to explore the dramatic craters of the 2002 eruption on horseback. A unique and peaceful way to experience Europe’s most active volcano — far from the crowds, and close to nature.

The horse riding tour is led by a local Italian guide who knows the trails of Mount Etna like the back of their hand. The guide speaks Italian, and a basic level of English and/or French. But don’t worry — with a bit of enthusiasm, gestures, and the typical Italian charm, you’ll understand each other just fine! Communication is warm, relaxed and informal, and the experience goes beyond language. Your guide is there to keep you safe, help you connect with your horse, and make sure you enjoy the natural beauty of Etna to the fullest.

I booked a 4.5 hour Horseback ride. I was very early and was allowed to participate in preparing my horse which turned into more of a lesson Enjoyably. My guide was unable to make it however the owner of the ranch took me out instead. He did not speak english and I did not speak italian, However, I think that made the trip even more fun. My first excursion by myself And I was worried, but at the end I had so much fun. Coffee before we left cheese and salami for lunch and a glass of wine at the very end. I will be back when I return to Italy.
