Your Etna adventure begins right at your doorstep. Whether you’re staying in Taormina, Giardini Naxos, Catania (additional costs), or a nearby area, your private guide will pick you up directly at your hotel or B&B. Normally this is around 08.30 – 09.00 hour in the morning.

Etna Jeep Tour (Half Day – ±4 hours)

Once aboard the 4×4 jeep, you’ll explore the wild and fascinating northern side of Mount Etna. Together with your guide, you’ll discover:

• A dramatic lava front from a past eruption
• A visit inside a lava flow cave (with helmet and light provided)
• Contrasts between old and recent lava flows
• A short hike to either the Monti Sartorius craters or the famous destroyed hotel buried in lava

This private tour offers a mix of off-road driving, light trekking and stunning volcanic landscapes — all tailored to your rhythm and interests.

Etna Jeep Tour (Full Day – ±7 hours)

Would you like to make the most of your time on Etna? You can extend the tour into a full-day private experience with one of the following options (additional costs apply):

Option 1: Wine Tasting & Lunch at a Local Cantina
After the morning jeep tour, you’ll head to a renowned Etna winery. Enjoy a guided tour through the vineyards, cellar visit, and a tasting of local wines paired with a Sicilian lunch.

Option 2: Mountain Lunch & Alcantara River Visit
Prefer a more natural setting? After the jeep tour, enjoy a relaxed lunch in a mountain restaurant followed by a stop at the Alcantara River Gorge, famous for its crystal-clear water and basalt formations.

This is a private tour, so the price depends on the number of participants. Price Private half day Jeep tour:

The jeep has 7 seats in total, but we recommend a maximum of 4 adults + 2 children, as the back row has limited space and is less comfortable for adults.

What to bring

The weather on Mount Etna can change quickly, and temperatures vary depending on altitude and season. We recommend dressing in layers, so you can easily adjust to the conditions throughout the day. This excursion is available year-round, so please dress appropriately for the season. For the Etna part of the tour, wear closed sports shoes or hiking shoes — no sandals or open shoes.

If you are doing the full-day tour with a visit to the Alcantara River, we recommend bringing:

• A swimsuit (to wear under your clothes or bring separately)
• A towel
• Water shoes if you want to walk in the river
