After a short safety briefing and meeting your local guide, you’ll hop on your quad and set off to explore the breathtaking Alcantara Valley. The route takes you along scenic off-road trails in the direction of Francavilla di Sicilia, surrounded by fragrant citrus groves and lush orange trees—truly the essence of Sicily! Along the way, you’ll make several stops at iconic landmarks:

• The Alcantara River Gurne – Discover this peaceful stretch of natural pools carved into ancient basalt rock, and dip your hands in the famously icy waters.

After a short introduction and safety briefing, you’ll hop on your quad and set off along off-road paths through the rugged beauty of the Alcantara Valley. One of the highlights? Riding along the bed of the Alcantara River, where you’ll stop to feel the crystal-clear, icy waters with your own hands. Along the way, you’ll pass fragrant citrus groves, drive through stunning natural scenery, and admire views of historic sites like the Byzantine Cuba and the Castle of Lauria.

The entire tour lasts approximately 2.5 hours and combines adrenaline, nature, and Sicilian charm into one unforgettable experience. You can choose your preferred starting time from the following options:

The Alcantara quad tour of 3,5 hours costs € 90,00 per quad. A maximum of 2 people can ride on 1 quad bike. The price is always the same, whether you go alone or with 2 people on 1 quad.

We don’t ask any prepayment! You can pay on the day of the quad bike tour, directly to your guide. We work on the principle of trust. You can trust us that there will be a quad ready for you when you book. And we trust you to show up when you book. You can pay for the quad bike tour by cash, pin or credit card. There is no ATM nearby to withdraw money!

Be prepared and enjoy your adventure to the fullest with these clothing tips:

• Always bring a jacket – Even on warm days, the temperature can feel cooler while riding the quad, especially in shaded or higher areas.
• Wear closed shoes – Good sports shoes or hiking boots are ideal. Open shoes, flip-flops, or sandals are not recommended.
• Protect your eyes – Bring sunglasses (or even clear glasses) to avoid getting dust in your eyes from other quads on the trail.
• Bring a (small) backpack – Perfect for carrying water, a towel, or any essentials you’d like to keep with you.
• Want to take a dip in the Alcantara River? The water is freezing, but refreshing! If you’re up for it, wear your swimwear under your clothes and pack a small towel. There is no changing area along the way, so coming prepared is key.

Quads

The quads are Polaris or CF Motors. These are automatic quad bikes. There can go 2 persons on 1 quad bike. The organization also provides a helmet and an under-helmet. Tours are given with respect for nature and as much safety as possible.
