What will you do during the Sicilian cooking class - Cooking class?
You will be welcomed by the local moms or the professional cook. Together with them you will first go into the garden in search of local fresh vegetables. This is the first ingredient for the Sicilian cooking class. Then you will receive 3 recipes that you will make during this workshop. The ingredients may vary based on availability and season. But as a base, fresh real ingredients will always be used.
- Arancino al finocchietto con pesto di pomodori pecchi e tuma
The moms show you the preparation of this typical Sicilian dish. It starts with cooking the rice, after which, together with the moms, you will try to make a Sicilian arancino yourself!
- Maccheroni al sugo di suino nero di Nebrodi
Next up is fresh, local pasta. The moms demonstrate the technique and dosage to make the Sicilian pasta themselves. A kind of knitting needles are used for rolling the pasta.
- Tortelle ricotta e pistacchio
You will then receive the proper supplies for making the dessert. And of course the moms again explain how to make this Sicilian dessert.
After helping and making the above dishes, it’s time to enjoy. Together, we’ll go to the table and taste the dishes. With the meal you will be served a delicious Etna DOC wine. You also get water (with and without soda) and a dessert wine!
The whole experience takes about 3 hours.
