Etna Sud quad tour itinerary
The quad tour starts from Rifugio Sapienza – Etna Sud and lasts about 2 hours. During the tour, you will drive through an old lava flow, see ancient craters in the distance, and visit a lava cave.
We will also show you the typical constructions of the region, which can be compared to nuraghes in Sardinia or trulli in Puglia. We descend into the middle of the broom forest of Etna, skirting ancient lava flows and crossing extraordinary lunar landscapes of lava.
Then, we will cross the bed of a dry river and a pine forest on Etna. In this way, you will have the possibility to admire a nice contrast between the green of nature and the black of the lava. Finally, after descending to the valley, you will return to the starting point at 1900 meters - Rifugio Sapienza.
Timetable and availability
This tour is available every day by reservation, even in winter with snow! We organize together with you the starting time for your excursion. It can be in the morning, but also in the afternoon or at sunset (with an additional cost). Usually, you can choose one of the following time:
- Departure at 10.00
- Departure at 12.00
- Departure at 14.00
- Departure at 16.00
- Departure at 18.00 (quad tour at sunset, extra costs)
It is important to arrive at the meeting point 15 minutes before the tour starts. The tour lasts approximately 2 hours in total.

The tour's price is € 100.00 per quad. 2 people can go on 1 quad.
You can also choose the VIP-package. With the VIP-package you get more attention, there will be a photoshoot of you (foto's on payment), you will receive a video of your tour for free, and every person gets a bottle of water, a juice and a small snack. The VIP-package is € 130,00 per quad.
It is possible to pay for the tour the day of the excursion, directly to the guide. Since we like to create a relationship with our clients based on trust, we do not ask for any advance payment: we trust you to show up after booking, and you trust us to find a quad ready after booking!

Etna Sud quad tour requirements
Clothing
It is recommended to wear comfortable clothes. You must wear closed shoes, such as sports shoes. It is not allowed to ride the quad with flip flops. We always suggest to bring a jacket with you, because it could be colder in the forest and on Etna! And we also recommend to wear sunglasses for driving. In summer you can wear shorts, but you feel more the heat of the motor of the quad.
Food and beverages
No food or drinks are included. So bring a bottle of water if you want to drink something during or after the tour. You can buy something in one of the bars in Etna Sud.

Guides and languages
The tour is led by expert guides. They speak Italian and English and during the tour they will tell you about the Etna volcano, its eruptions and the surrounding area.
The quads
The tour takes place with quad 4×4 CF. These are automatic quads. The organizers also provide a helmet and a hairnet. The excursions are carried out with respect for nature and in maximum safety: don't forget that you are driving in a Natural Park!
