During the boat tour Taormina you will see:
This scenic boat tour takes you along the most enchanting parts of the Ionian coast, revealing hidden bays, sea caves, and historical landmarks that tell the story of Sicily’s rich past.
We begin in the Bay of Giardini Naxos, with stunning views of Mount Etna and the coastline. As we cruise, you’ll spot the elegant Spuches building, a relic of noble Sicilian heritage. Passing by Cape Naxos, you’ll see the statue of the Nike of Samothrace, symbolizing the first Greek colony in Sicily.
One of the highlights is the Cave of the Day (Grotta del Giorno) – beautifully lit by natural sunlight and historically used by local fishermen as shelter. We continue toward Capo Taormina, an impressive rocky headland above the Faraglioni del Capo, a dramatic stretch between the bays of Naxos and Isola Bella.
Arriving at Isola Bella, a protected nature reserve and jewel of the Mediterranean, you can admire its crystal-clear waters and unique landscape. There’s time for a refreshing swim or to simply relax on the boat.
Nearby lies the famous Blue Cave (Grotta Azzurra), where sunlight reflects on the seabed, creating magical blue and coral-red tones in the water. Where conditions allow, the captain will carefully navigate the boat inside the cave for a closer look – though please note this is always dependent on sea currents and safety.
The tour continues along the peaceful Bay of Mazzarrò and the historic Bay of San Nicola, an ancient Roman port, before reaching the tranquil Spisone Bay, an ideal spot to enjoy the final stretch of your journey.
