Discovering the territory of Mount Etna on the ancient train of the Circumetnea Railway is certainly a different and unique way. An unusual alternative to visit Mount Etna with a historical train that travels along the slopes of Etna, passing through small villages and lava landscapes.
The departure point is the station of Catania Borgo, while the arrival is at the station of Riposto. The railway is traveled in both directions through Etna cities such as Paternò, Adrano, Bronte, Randazzo, Linguaglossa, Piedimonte Etneo, Giarre.
The Circumetnea is not a purely tourist train, but rather considered for commuters, although there are also occasional purely tourist runs with vintage wagons.
The whole journey takes more than 3 hours. During the route it is possible to get off to visit the various villages. It is certainly necessary to consult the departure times.
